Art is a window into the transcendent. It is healing, it is cathartic, it speaks to our souls ~ and intuition.
My art wraps a language around emotions and thoughts from my days and life. Inspiration comes from my own personal experiences as well as thoughts that were formed from encounters with others. Wherever it comes from, I listen and allow it to open a deeper layer of communication that takes root within me as the artist and (I hope you) the viewer. That's why I love to create, because it speaks with a visual language of color and line that opens up a world of possibilities filled with intuitive reflections of thought for interpretive meaning. How beautiful is that?
My art has been referred to as healing, inspiring, deeply personal and introspective. If it speaks to you, my guess is, we are already kindred spirits.
I have always been a creative. It's in my bones. Although my formal training is limited to my college years spent in design classes for the fashion industry. My real life training is boundless. I am mostly self-taught and derive my inspiration and learning from life and the many incredible teachers we have available to us in this age of technology and creativity.
I have taken countless art classes and will continue to explore the creative process. It's something that I crave.
Along with being an artist, I'm also a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) with a large toolkit filled with Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) techniques. Art is one of them.
For many years now, I've cultivated a practice of attuning to my inner world ~ my soul and intuitive wise-self ~ with art as the language of communication.
Replenishing pauses are invited into my days to fill my proverbial cup. Whatever thoughts, feelings, and emotions I take with me into my practice is what gets translated through color using mixed media design. It is an entirely intuitive process that follows desire ~ to a world of quiet contemplation ~ for meaning.
